When we visited Matsumoto with our family, we were immediately struck by the city’s rich history and beautiful scenery. Matsumoto Castle was a particular highlight for me, as we were were able to climb to the top and admire the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and city. The castle’s black exterior and distinctive design made it an impressive and unique sight to see.

Exploring the Nakamachi-dori was also a memorable experience. I enjoyed walking down the narrow street, lined with old merchant houses that have been converted into shops, cafes, and restaurants. I particularly enjoyed trying out the local cuisine, including soba noodles and miso soup, which were some of the best I’ve ever tasted.

One of the things that really stood out to me about Matsumoto was its peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. The city’s hot springs or onsen were a perfect way to unwind and take a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. I spent hours soaking in the hot mineral-rich waters and enjoying the serene surroundings.

We also loved exploring the natural beauty of the Japanese Alps, which are easily accessible from Matsumoto. Hiking through the mountains and taking in the stunning scenery was a truly unforgettable experience.

Overall, our time in Matsumoto was a wonderful and fulfilling experience. The city’s history, culture, and natural beauty made it a unique and unforgettable destination, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly authentic Japanese experience.
